Oscar Ramirez currently serves as the Associate Director of Athletics for the Mavericks, where he plays a key role in the leadership and daily operations of the athletic department. In this capacity, Oscar oversees external relations, corporate partnerships, game day operations, and event management, working closely with coaches, staff, and university leadership to enhance the overall athletic experience for both student-athletes and fans. He also currently serves as the chair of the inaugural NCAA Women’s Wrestling Committee.

Since joining CMU in 2023, Oscar has been actively involved in strengthening the department’s foundation by building collaborative relationships with coaches, staff, and campus partners. He has played an important role in enhancing the game day experience, expanding promotional opportunities, and creating a welcoming environment that reflects the mission and values of Colorado Mesa University.

Prior to this position, Oscar developed broad experience in collegiate athletics through roles in compliance, marketing, fundraising, ticketing, and operations at Iowa Western Community College, where he served as both Assistant and Associate Director of Athletics. These experiences provided valuable perspective and a well-rounded understanding of athletic administration, which continue to shape his leadership approach and commitment to supporting both staff and student-athletes.

A graduate of Augustana University and Buena Vista University, Oscar earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He remains committed to advancing the mission of higher education and intercollegiate athletics by fostering student-athlete development and building strong community connections.

Oscar and his wife, Lauren, reside in Grand Junction with their son, Wes.
