Golden, Colo. – Friday's game lived up to the hype, as two top-25 teams went head to head and battled into 108-minutes to determine a winner. After tying it up just three minutes after Colorado School of Mines took the initial lead, the Colorado Mesa men's soccer program dropped a heartbreaker with just 1:13 left on the clock. .
Mines outshot the Mavericks 21-11, which included five in the second overtime period. CMU were withheld from taking shot in both the first half and in the second overtime period, putting just three strikes on goal.
Connor Durant came up with some key saves late, collecting seven saves on the night.
Ethan Anderson was the main shot taker on the night with three, followed by
Colton Shafer who took two of his own.
Mines drew first blood in the 73
rd minute, Quin Collins in on the rebound to put it through.

Daisuke Takanaka used his speed and athleticism to knot it at one.
Isa Trujillo sent it from the Mavs defensive third, finding Takanaka on the run. Despite being tripped up in the box, he managed to get laces behind it and send it into the twine.
As the team's headed into the second overtime period, there was just 1:13 left to go for the Mavs to escape with a draw. Awarded a corner kick, the Orediggers scored the game-winner on the far post to take the win.
The Maverick men will look to bounce back on Sunday, headed just up the road to Colorado Christian. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
