During the Spring of 2009, the CMU Softball Field opened, becoming the first official field for the softball program. The CMU Softball Field has sunk duggouts as well as turfed bullpens for each team. The facility seats 600 fans along the lines and in the outfield. The softball field also has an inning-by-inning LED Daktronics scoreboard, enclosed press box, sound system, and lights for night games.
The CMU Softball Field is the home of Colorado Mesa softball in the spring and host many School District 51 games during the fall for Palisade, Central, Grand Junction, and Fruita high schools.
The softball field is located on Cannell Avenue. The venue has plenty of parking along Cannell avenue as well as parking lots south and west of the field. Parking around the complex is at your own risk.
