JR McDermott was named the pitcher of the week.
McDermott set Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and Colorado Mesa records by striking out 19 batters last Friday in a 3-2 win over MSU Denver. The previous school record was shared by four (Bryan King, 2002; Chris Carma, 2006; Nolan Snell, 2012;
Nick Cardinale, 2015) while the previous RMAC record was set by Nebraska-Kearney's Ryan Sheldon at 17.
He is slated to start on Friday at 6:05pm against Colorado Mines at Suplizio Field.
